"Fun in mobile manipulation" hackathons are taking off The first "Fun in Mobile Manipulation" project took place at Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Spain between 27.05.13 and 01.06.13. Sixteen students participated in this hackathon and developed a guide dog application on a KUKA youBot. When using the guide dog application, named dogUMH, the platform simulates the behavior of a guide dog. The goal of this hackathon was to acquaint the students with the use of the youBot API and ROS (robot operating system) and to develop a new open-source application.
