Details
The robot simulator V-REP, also known as the "Swiss army knife robot simulator", is now open source and free for students, teachers, professors, schools and universities. V-REP is a cross-platform robot simulator that provides interfaces for embedded Lua scripts, ROS nodes and different remote API clients (e.g. C++, Java, Python or MATLAB). It provides a KUKA youBot model and interfaces to inverse kinematics as well as path planning solvers. It enables beginners to work directly on mobile manipulations tasks without the need to solve inverse kinematics or navigation problems. V-REP offers many additional features such as 2 physics engines, minimum distance calculation, custom user interfaces, etc.A video of the V-REP youBot model can be found here.
Installation
The youBot model and many other models and demo scenes is contained in the V-REP installation package that can be downloaded here:
http://www.v-rep.eu/Usage
Just launch V-REP and drag and drop the youBot into the scene. You can also open the youBot demo scenes "youBotAndHanoiTower" or "youBotDemo".
