V-REP

Published: October 14, 2011 by Admin youBot Store

Short description

Simulation of the KUKA youBot in the V-REP simulator.

The model features:
  • dynamic simulation (with 2 physics engines to choose from: ODE or Bullet)
  • kinematic simulation (inverse kinematics working hand-in-hand with the physics engine)
  • very realistic model of the omnidirectional wheels (no shacking nor jittering, even on uneven ground)
  • full model customization option, no need for any other tool than V-REP
  • possibility to add any device from the model library (felt pen, laser scanner, kinect, gripper, etc.), or other devices designed by the user
A video of the V-REP youBot model can be found here.

Installation

The youBot model and many other models and demo scenes is contained in the V-REP installation package that can be downloaded here:
http://www.v-rep.eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7&Itemid=14

Students can use V-REP for free, as long as it is installed on a private computer at home (free registration is required for that).

Usage

Just launch V-REP and drag and drop the youBot into the scene. You can also open the youBot demo scenes "youBotAndHanoiTower" or "youBotDemo".
