"As president, I believe that robotics can inspire young people to pursue science and engineering. And I also want to keep an eye on those robots in case they try anything." - President Barack Obama at the launch of his Educate to InnovateCampaign(Wird Link)

On August 9th 2013, scientists, researchers and inventors gathered around for "We the Geeks" Google + Hangout on "Robotics". The video conference of the leading experts in robotics can be watched on the White House Blog Website. Throughout the conference, scientists presented application areas for robots reaching from class rooms and medicine to manufacturing and exploring the Solar System.

The possibilites in robotics are of wide scope. The video on the conference, features the automated multi-robot furniture assembly by two KUKA youBots (starting at minute 10:40). The demonstration highlights the broad range of applications that can be gained by investing in robotics research and the importance of robots in both academia and industry.
