Title: IKEA Furniture Assembly
Team: Ross A. Knepper, Todd Layton, John Romanishin, and Daniela Rus.
University: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Distributed Robotics Laboratory
Abstract: The goal of this project is to enable a team of youBots to autonomously assemble IKEA furniture. The youBots should be able to open boxes, remove furniture and completely assemble the furniture kit. The skills needed to assemble the furniture are not limited to a home setting. Applications of the technologies used are being tested for factory settings as well.
