Abstract: The KUKA youBot is used in a national Italian project in robotics research aiming at tackling issues that have been growing with changes in demographics. In the OmniaRoboCare project the youBot is part of the development of a system that supports independent living for elderly people. The system consists of a robotic platform integrated in a software system tool. The university developed a prototype KuBo (from KUka roBot) and equipped it with a tablet, speakers and a microphone enabling speech interaction. KuBo, who looks similar to a mobile living room table is about ready for testing in real-life scenarios in a domestic environment with elderly people.
